I will be the voice of the people of Neenah!
Make a plan to get out on April 5th so we can make it happen together!
Today is the day!
Make sure to get out and vote! As Mayor, I will be the voice of the people of Neenah!
My latest video was done at Valley VNA Senior Care in Neenah.
Business of all types help create tax revenue for the city, removing burden from the people. Business draws new people to the city of Neenah. We have many empty commercial lots & buildings within Neenah and we need to work together to find new uses for them. Anyone with a dream to be a business owner should have an opportunity to do so!
We must CONTINUOUSLY do everything possible to attract new businesses & retain current businesses.
Tax Increment Financing or TIF districts can be effective; yet, they are a gamble. Neenah has had some dysfunctional TIF districts as well as some with success Currently 3 of the 7 within Neenah have or are in a distressed situation. Neenah must perform proper due diligence when looking into a TID, as they are in fact still a property tax…all taxes must be kept in check.
I will diligently work hand in hand with Neenah Community Development, Future Neenah, and the Fox Cities Chamber to help influence new business.
Neenah must always be found to be attractive to businesses, small or large; new or existing. Businesses look at infrastructure, education proficiency, work ethic, and access to amenities within the community.
Neenah must always be seen as a safe, secure, beautiful, and prosperous community…it is the biggest draw!
I am going to be quite blunt on this subject. WE NEED TO PUT OUR DIFFERENCES ASIDE ONCE AND FOR ALL! Over the past decade, politics have separated families & friends alike...WE NEED TO START ACTING LIKE ADULTS!
One part of keeping Neenah an amazing city is that our Mayor must work with our local law enforcement to make sure that it stays properly staffed, trained, and equipped.
I will always work hand in hand with the Neenah Police Department to make sure that they are always prepared for whatever it is that comes their way…..in a fiscally responsible fashion of course!
The Neenah Police Department is currently short 11 team members.
I will work together with Chief Olson to find fiscally responsible ways where the Neenah Police Department could bring in:
There has been an uptick in crime within Neenah, which seems to be due to the HWY 41 corridor, troubled individuals coming from the larger metro areas, and a lack of officers. We need to find a way to bring in the required members to the NPD team…in a financially responsible way.
School zones are no place for stupidity and are a huge concern of the people! This is one thing that has always frustrated me. We must find a way to assist with this issue without additional traffic officers!
CRIME HAS NO PLACE WITHIN NEENAH!
I do not care what type of tax it is, property, county, state, federal, program, grant, or TID....THEY ARE ALL TAX DOLLARS! The city of Neenah must always be responsible with YOUR tax dollar! All taxes & expenditures must be kept in check! The city needs to start treating the budget such as a family would need to!
Last Spring, I actually began to gather people to assist in cleaning up some of the areas of Neenah. We did see improvement; however, within weeks…it would be close to where we began. This needs to be kept consistent throughout the spring, summer, and fall. This is something that would be worth looking into; maybe bringing troubled teens to help that are ordered to community service? My husband has a friend in Baltimore that has worked with a program such as this and they have seen great success!
We were in fact given one Earth, and it must remain healthy for future generations.
Let's come together for Neenah!
I am a mom of four children, all of who have been raised in this city. Over twenty years ago, my family chose to relocate to Neenah for it's beauty, the people, and the education system. We searched long and hard to make sure to find the best place to raise a family. Times have not been always the easiest for me; however, I have been blessed by this city and I feel that it is time to pay it forward by becoming a steward to the people of Neenah.
You won't see me hobnobbing within fraternal organizations or holding an executive position with a big corporation. You will see me as a very hard worker with much dedication to whatever it is that I do. I have many years of experience with both management and business ownership and will bring this all the way to Neenah City Hall!
